Fiscal Sponsorships

At the Meagher County Community Foundation, we believe in empowering great ideas that make our community stronger. That’s why we offer fiscal sponsorships—a way for charitable projects to operate under our 501(c)(3) umbrella without the time and cost of starting their own nonprofit.

Whether you're launching a short-term project or testing a new initiative, fiscal sponsorship through MCCF provides the support and structure you need to focus on what matters most: making a difference.

What is a Fiscal Sponsorship?

Fiscal sponsorship allows eligible community projects to:

  • Receive tax-deductible donations

  • Apply for grants available only to 501(c)(3) organizations

  • Operate under MCCF’s nonprofit status

  • Get guidance and administrative support from our experienced team

It all begins with an idea! This is a great fit for new, grassroots initiatives that are just getting started—or ongoing programs that don’t require a full nonprofit structure. We are here to help!

How it Works

Once your project is approved for fiscal sponsorship, it operates under the umbrella of MCCF’s nonprofit status. That means we take care of the administrative side—handling donation processing, issuing tax receipts, overseeing grant disbursement, and ensuring compliance with all relevant nonprofit regulations. You still run your program and connect with your friends and donors, but with the added support of our experience and structure behind you. It’s a simple, effective way to get your idea off the ground without the time and cost of creating your own 501(c)(3).
